AXIS Presentation - September 1998 - Julian Procter

The User Interface - Past Solutions - Future Challenges

Introduction

This AXIS presentation covers how IT sections have provided solutions in response to the user interface requirement.
These pages are from the second half of the AXIS presentation - the Future Challenges).
(The first half having dealt with print techniques and attitudes - the Past Solutions.)
It covers how three-tier, thin-client, client server architecture could be deployed as a "Business Computer" ( as opposed to Personal Computer) architecture.
The components of the "Business Computer" architecture are my thoughts on how technology could be implemented as a solution to the end user interface requirement.
